Choose your trip in Algeria

How to choose your trip to Algeria?

The choice depends first on available time and target regions. A 10 to 14 days format allows you to combine Algiers, the Roman sites of the Northeast (Djemila, Timgad, Constantine) and a foray into northern Sahara, Mzab or Timimoun. To include central Sahara, Hoggar or Tassili n'Ajjer, which require permits, domestic flights and bivouacs, plan for a 15 to 20 days format. Distances are long, the country is four times the size of France; we systematically combine road travel and domestic flights to avoid full days of transfers.

Different types of trips

Our cultural itineraries center on the seven UNESCO-listed sites, from Tassili to the Casbah of Algiers via Mzab and Roman cities. Adventure trips focus on bivouacs under canvas in Hoggar, trekking in Tassili and 4x4 routes through the Grand Erg. For family journeys, we prioritize the Mediterranean coast, accessible Roman sites and a symbolic night in the dunes near Timimoun, with shorter stages and comfortable accommodations.

What is the best season?

Algeria's climate follows two rhythms. In the Mediterranean North, April to June and September to November offer 18 to 26 degrees, ideal for Algiers, Kabylie and Roman sites. In the Sahara, the best window runs from October to March, days at 22-28 degrees and cool nights, sometimes 0 degrees at altitude in Hoggar. Avoid July and August in the South where temperatures exceed 45 degrees. Spring remains our prime season for combining both Algeries in a single journey.

Our quality commitment

Sylvain and the Algeria-based team in Algiers design each trip on a made-to-measure basis after a detailed discussion about your expectations, pace and interests. We work with accredited local guides, particularly for the southern Saharan regions which require permits and accompaniment. Our services are APST-guaranteed and our Atout France license covers everything. In case of unforeseen circumstances, an English-speaking contact is reachable 7 days a week from Algiers—that's the difference a real local agency makes.
