The spirit of travel

We invite you to enjoy a beautiful stopover in Ghardaïa, the capital of the M'zab valley. This is a unique region, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Located 600 km south of Algiers, in the northern Sahara, Ghardaïa is the ideal starting point to discover the cultural, historical and natural riches of these ancient oases.

Ghardaïa is part of a pentapolis, a cluster of five fortified cities (ksour) built by the Mozabites, an Ibadi Berber community. Each ksar has its own identity, architecture and palm grove. You can visit Beni Isguen, the holy city, Melika, the queen, Bounoura, the beautiful, El Atteuf, the turning point, and of course Ghardaïa, the pearl of the south.

Ghardaïa will captivate you with its authentic charm, its colourful souk, its white mosque and its casbah. You can stroll through its narrow, maze-like streets, admire its stone and clay houses with flat roofs, and meet its welcoming and hospitable people. You can also taste its local gastronomy, based on dates, couscous and traditional bread.

We also invite you to explore its exceptional surroundings, between desert and mountain. You can admire the varied landscapes of the M'zab valley, with dunes, canyons, plateaus. You can also discover the region's artistic and spiritual heritage.

We will also introduce you to the El-Goléa region, the first city on the dunes of the western erg with its magnificent salt lakes where pink flamingos migrate. Not to mention St Joseph's Chapel and the archaeology museum and the old ksar with incredible inlaid shells. These two regions are therefore destinations that have plenty of attractions to give you an unforgettable travel experience in the heart of the Algerian Sahara.
